Ria & Nipuna – Bahrain

Bahrain. Near Saudi Arabia. I apologize in advance for this post being so long, but it was a 5 day wedding.

So wonderful. These two are inspiring. They each care so greatly about the world around them, as well as for their family and friends. The love they share together is something so beautiful. I thank them so much for letting me share their week with them as they wed. The week started out on Sunday night, after I, and many other friends from all around the States flew into Bahrain. Ria greeted us at the airport with tears, laughter, and a little stress. We began the week. Monday was full or preparations and the evening began with Henna night for the girls. Followed of course by amazing food and dancing. We were graced with the extremely talented family, which broke out into song. Amazing song, which was beautiful. The Tuesday following was Arabic night, where we were all able to dress in Arabic attire and head out to the desert to eat good food, indulge in shisha as well as dancing, as always. The third night we went to an amazing restaurant called Lanterns, one of Ria’s favorites. Where we were treated again with food that was out of this world, and music and dancing to end the night, very exhausting, but everyone had a smile across their face. Even a little Limbo ended the evening just right!

Thursday. The wedding. The morning began with the bride getting prepared for the day. Not one moment went by without a huge smile spread across Ria’s face, the weather was perfect, it just put you in a wonderful mood to see Ria so ready to wed Nipuna. Off to the church for a beautiful ceremony followed by the reception. Wonderfully decorated with help from many friends and artists the reception hall looked spectacular.  The night continued into the speeches; which were hilarious, moving, and inspiring. We then broke out into a “flash mob,” which I was able to be a part of. The Party rock anthem dance began on the dance floor with the wedding party. Amazing. Perfect.

The day after everyone dressed back up in their wedding attire and we went out to the high school where Ria and Nipuna first met and created photos with the wedding party and friends. So full of hilarious story telling from the night before as well as laughing and carrying on about the week we had all just experienced. Many people from around the world became close, created friendships, all thanks to these two people who fell in love. Thank you so much for bringing me along on this adventure. You are two of the most beautiful people inside and out I have ever come across. I wish you two so much happiness. Congratulations Ria and Nipuna.

Much love,
Grant.

Jenn & Steve

Steve and Jenn. We decided to have some fun at the winter wonderland at Navy Pier where this adorable couple met. They play some of the characters you see performing at the event. We were able to take part in the games and play games usually designated for children! But WE got to be the kids, as I followed this couple throughout this wonderland, through making cookies, jumping around in a blowup candy-cane bouncer. Afterwards, we braved the winter outside and galavanted around the pier. What a fun day!

Merry Christmas you two!
